Millie Bobby Brown is seemingly coming to her own defense after social media criticism about her appearance.
The hateful comments were shared under an Instagram photo posted Monday, in which the “Stranger Things” star shared a series of mirror selfies in a pink and white patterned dress and Louis Vuitton mini-purse while showing off her wedding ring, making a posh face with pursed lips.
Apparently, some comments thought the freshly married actress looked different in the photo, with one user writing: “What’s happening to her face.” Other commenters were more harsh, as others wrote: “U look 35 what happened??” and “Millie’s google history : ‘How to look 65 when you are 16.'”
The 20-year-old actress seemed to respond to the brash negativity in her comments on her Instagram story, in a since-expired post to kick off the New Year. On Wednesday, she simply wrote in black text over a white background: “women grow!! not sorry about it :)”
Fans have also come to her defense. “Y’all. She’s not a kid anymore. You’re still expecting her to look like baby Eleven,” one user wrote, referring to her “Stranger Things” character. “She’s not.”
Brown has grown up working on the sci-fi series, which wrapped its final season last month, and she was 12 when the first episodes hit Netflix.
On Tuesday, the “Damsel” actress looked back on her 2024 with a series of clips in an Instagram reel, many of which featured her and her husband Jake Bongiovi, son of Jon Bon Jovi. She captioned the video: “the year of mrs bongiovi 🤍”
